A Safe and Supportive Social Environment
St. Vincent’s Memory Care program helps individuals living with Alzheimer’s, dementia and other forms of memory loss – no matter their stage – maintain their highest level of functional independence within a structured, secure and social environment.
Is Memory Care Right for You?
Living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia can be scary for both the individual and their loved ones, especially when they live alone. Will the individual fall, wander or get confused? Can they properly take care of themselves, cook and do everyday chores? Will they feel isolated, lonely and experience unpredictable, intense mood changes?
The professional team at St. Vincent works to ease these fears. Your loved one will be safe and cared for with the highest level of compassion. Since we don’t view memory loss as an inhibitor, we work to keep residents engaged in daily life and the environment around them. We encourage family involvement, as families and residents play an active role in all decisions related to the care residents receive.
Our dedicated and skilled staff is led by an Alzheimer’s-trained director, and we provide 24/7 safety checks and assistance in the routines of daily living.
We know the overwhelming stress on family caregivers when trying to care for a loved one showing signs of Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. Our memory care professionals are here to talk with you about all of your options before there is an urgency to make a choice.
A Unique Environment of Care
When you visit St. Vincent’s Memory Care unit, our hope is you’ll quickly feel at ease. Our thoughtfully designed and secure floor – with private and spacious rooms – not only provides the safest environment, but also a comforting and familiar setting for our residents.
Individuals with dementia often have a strong connection to their past life. That’s why we help personalize their rooms with photos, mementos, belongings, keepsakes and furniture from home.
Our nursing staff is available 24/7. We understand that Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia can leave your loved one scared at times, but a staff member is only seconds away to comfort and support them in any way.
Music & Memory
St. Vincent offers “NH Memories,” a memory-enriching program helping individuals connect with meaningful memories, feelings or people in their lives through the power of music.
Residents have access to portable music players and, with the help of family and trained care specialists, personalized playlists are created for them with specific songs carrying special meaning to them.
It’s a very moving program that can trigger emotional responses, unlock conversation and elicit reactions that can soothe residents or rekindle a connection with their family members.
